Silk Road

Inspired by the landscape of China's silk road - the route traders in Asia took to sell their beautiful wares - this traditional Chinese dance-drama arrives in London for the first time having already toured the world. First performed in 1972, the piece follows a painter's daughter who is kidnapped after she helps save the life of a Persian businessman on the silk road. Gansu Dance Drama & Opera Ensemble perform the piece which was made into a film in 1982.
