Sophocles’ Antigone: The Burial at Thebes

Roy Alexander Weise is one of the most in-demand young directors out there, and has an exceptionally busy 2020 lined up. He makes his Lyric Hammersmith bow with a revival for Seamus Heaney’s epic take on Sophocles’ ‘Antigone’, about a young woman who risks everything to bury her brother, in defiance of the king. The production will feature a chorus drawn from the Lyric’s young company.
