[title]
A big revival for Brecht’s classic play, in a new version by Steve Waters, directed by Rose boss Christopher Haydon. Waters’s version relocates the story from warring Soviet communes to a modern-day refugee camp, where a singer helps resolve a dispute over lost lands by invoking the legend of the Caucasian Chalk Circle. The cast is headed by musical theatre star Carrie Hope Fletcher in her first major non-musical role as Grusha Vashnadze (though you assume she’ll get her lungs around some of original songs written for this production by Michael Henry).
