Martin Crimp’s sharp update of an eighteenth-century French comedy

The latest in Orange Tree boss Paul Miller's string of stylish updates on historical plays is 'The False Servant', Martin Crimp's sharp 2004 adaptation of Marivaux's eighteenth-century comedy, first staged at the National Theatre. It follows a woman who disguises herself as a knight so she can outwit a money-grubbing suitor. Miller directs a cast of Uzair Bhatti, Will Brown, Julian Moore-Cook, Phoebe Pryce, Lizzy Watts and Silas Wyatt-Barke.
