Poet and playwright Inua Ellams came up with the idea of staging a “midnight run” (or walk) around London after getting fed up with waiting for a night bus one night, and walking home – a journey that took him six hours. Since then, he's restaged the “run” as an all-night participatory theatre event; this time, it's around Bankside, as part of the area's MERGE festival.
