Some of us continue to find the perennial appeal of Gilbert and Sullivan's musty, horribly old-fashioned operettas utterly mystifying. But this version of 'The Mikado', directed by Matthew Johnson and produced in-house at The Tabard, sounds more palatable than most: at least the dubious Japanese setting has been swapped for the rarefied environs of an English golf club.
