Time Out says

Richard O’Brien’s camp B-movie spoof returns for its fiftieth anniversary

A subversive classic that has probably in truth become defanged by an understandable lack of will to meaningfully move on from the original ’70s production, Richard O’Brien’s sexually transgressive spoof sci-fi has remained in near-continuous service as a touring concern since it debuted at the Royal Court in 1973: technically it’s actually lasted longer than ‘Les Mis’ and ‘Phantom’. What it's not had is their sort of unbroken London run, it’s an increasingly rare visitor to the capital. But here it is, back for a fiftieth-anniversary stint at the Peacock Theatre.

Telly presenter Ore Oduba will reprise his recent touring role as the ultra square Brad Majors, who breaks down – along with his fiancee Janet (Haley Flaherty) – breaks down at the castle of the sexually boggling alien crossdresser Frank N Furter (Stephen Webb).

It’s a fun – not to mention rowdy – night out, but you feel like there’s a radical twenty-first-century reinvention in it that we’re profoundly unlikely to get while its endless tour remain profitable.
