The Turn of the Screw

Edward Dick directs Benjamin Britten's haunting piece for OperaUpClose. Based on a Henry James novel, a young governess (Sophie Bird) becomes convinced that the angelic children in her care are possessed by ghosts. Isolated and naïve, yet determined to save her wards, she finds her grip on reality slipping, with tragic consequences. Accompanied on piano by musical director David Eaton; with designs by Signe Beckmann and video projection by Richard Bleasdale.
