The Two Character Play

Kate O’Flynn and Zubin Varla star in this Tennessee Williams rarity

Time Out says

Tennessee Williams wrote a small handful of shiningly good plays, and an awful lot of rather more forgettable ones. Find out which category 'The Two Character Play' falls into with Sam Yates's revival, which dusts off this seldom-staged early work. It's a story of two actors, brother and sister, who find themselves unexpectedly in front of an audience that's expecting them to perform. Part of its 'Classics' season, Hampstead Theatre's production sees it return to the venue where it got its world premiere in 1967.

The revival was delayed for a year by the pandemic, but returns impressively cast with Kate O'Flynn and Zubin Varla as the two siblings.
