This is My Family

Tim Firth’s 2013 musical about a disastrous family holiday with a surprisingly happy ending was a big local hit in Sheffield, toured the country the year after that, and was staged again at Chichester in 2019. It never took a tilt at the West End though, or transferred to London in any other way. But here it finally is in a brand new production directed by none other than ex-Royal Court boss Vicky Featherstone. Gemma Whelan of Sherlock fame is the biggest name here as Yvonne, mother to Nancy Allsopp’s Nicky, who wins a choice of dream holiday for her whole family and for whatever reason opts to go camping in the UK.
