Playwright David Edgar's acting debut sold out within weeks of being announced: small wonder, since Edgar has built up quite a following over his 50-year-long writing career. 'Trying It On' finds him in thoughtful mood - it's a discussion between a 70-year-old and his 20-year-old self that sounds at least partly autobiographical.
