Time Out says

You’ll of course know who Danny Robins is: he’s the man responsible for Lily Allen’s classic 2025 album West End Girl (no, he actually is, albeit tangentially).

But aside from penning 2:22 – A Ghost Story (the play that caused all the trouble) he is of course best known for his spooky podcast Uncanny and its TV spinoff, wherein he investigates alleged hauntings and deftly pulls off the trick of simultaneously strongly implying that the events in question both did and didn’t happen. He’s also a thoroughly affable chap who doesn’t come across nearly as woo woo as the experts he gets on his show, and so it’s no surprise Uncanny has transitioned smoothly into a live version.

Fear of the Dark is its second stage edition, and features Robins and a lot of stage magic bringing to life various possible paranormal incursions, while he and his oddball pals Dr Ciarán O’Keeffe and Evelyn Hollow debate the events in question. The title comes from the suggestion that a primeval fear of the dark may explain away much of what we find unnerving – a classic Robins-esque equivocation.

The lengthy tour will end with two dates in Robins’ home turf of Walthamstow – they’ll be filmed as well.
