This evening event, organised by Open House, provides a rare opportunity to tour the Darke House, designed and built as his family home by Geoffrey Darke – the architect of some of London’s best known and now listed social housing projects including Lillington Gardens in Pimlico. Simon Callender and Martina Martin, Darke House's current owners, host this evening at the house, which has been described as the country's 'best example of a modernist house in a Georgian setting'. Nearly all of the original features remain including Peter Nelson lighting, original glass mosaic bathroom tiling, solid wood kitchen and all fittings, integral teak bookshelves in the living room and Danish triple glazed wooden windows throughout. Booking essential via http://open-city.org.uk.
