Bussey Building

Time Out says

A massive old warehouse slap-bang in the middle of Peckham, Bussey Bulding has become a cultural hub, hosting live gigs, full-on raves, theatre shows and film screenings. A multi-level space, it also hosts the CLF Art Café, The Nines bar and restaurant and Rye Wax record store and café, all in the same complex.

Sip on your favourite cocktails and munch down on gourmet hot-dogs as you as gaze out to a sweeping panorama of London's magnificent skyline.

No, I'm not talking the high-end restaurants in some soaring skyscraper, I'm talking about the affordable rooftop bar up top the Bussey building. It's perfect for sunny days, great place to catch-up with some chums and easy to get to from Peckham Rye station. It's not the biggest but I suppose that can be a good thing to: you don't want it to be heaving.

Sustenance is provided by one of the best food sellers in town (which also happens to be responsible for giving me the best hot-dog I've ever had the pleasure of wolfing down) and should you fancy it, there's also the Rooftop Cinema Club on the other side if you want to grab the popcorn and hunkering down with a special someone to a classic film.

Easily one of the top places to be in the summer. People of Peckham you are so lucky to have this.

Bussey Building is synonymous to boutique designer shops and studios where the creative types come tother to be creative. Now the area around the building includes a few little food joints, including a great Ramen spot. Recently visited the Bussey Building for The Run Out event and it was epic. This area is on it's way up and a must-visit spot south of the river.

If you are in Peckham around sunset time, go to Bussey Building immediately and watch the scene from their cosy rooftop! I went to Bussey Building a few weeks back while attending a Rooftop Film Club there (you watch a movie under the stars in a sun lounger, wrapped in blankets if it's a cold day). The sunset view is what makes the difference here but the food sold on the rooftop (tacos when I came) and cocktails are not to be missed either. A perfect place for a date, it is very affordable and you'll probably earn extra points by inviting your date to a screening of Romeo+Juliet at sunset time!

Expect breathtaking sunsets over the city, tempting cocktails and delicious tacos with chill chicken and almonds or sweet pulled pork that will delight your tastebuds. The rooftop of the Bussey building is definitely worth a visit. Tucked away behind a side alley, you may find yourself slightly out of breath by the time you reach the top of the building. You may also occasionally wonder whether you’re in the right place, as the building is somewhat run down and not all of it is in use. But rest reassured and carry on all the way to the top. To your left you’ll step onto a terrace with spectacular views over the City: a tiny St Paul’s and London Eye waving at you from the distance. If you head right you’ll find the Bussey rooftop cinema, active mostly in the summer months, where you can watch old classics, while warming up under a blanket and staring not only at your favourite cinema stars but also at the starry sky for a night out to remember.

Make sure you head to Peckham and check out the Bussey Building. The rooftop bar has incredible views and a relaxed vibe. If you catch it in the summer months, grab some popcorn and lounge back in the deck chairs to catch a movie on the rooftop.

I love venues like Bussey Building - reminds me of clubs and locations Berlin or Budapest.

What you can expect there are art exhibition, creative studios, rooftop cinema, club and who know what else is hiding behind Bussey Buildings walls. There are plenty of events and concerts going on; just check the website out and head to straight to Peckham - highly recommended!

I have to say, I have absolutely no idea what the inside of this venue is like as we headed straight up the stairs to the rooftop.. However, that in itself is spectacular! As soon as you walk out into the open air it feels like you are miles away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Beautiful twinkling fairy lights and chill out music greets you straight away as well as the smell of the succulent burgers!

As a rooftop destination this is one of the best in London with great views across the skyline. There is also a lovely bar with an extensive drinks menu all at fairly reasonable prices.

We have heard that lots of other events happen within the Bussey Building from live music to cultural exhibitions. We would definitely be interested in returning!

Keeping it real since day one, If Peckham loses this, it's soul would be close to lost. A true institution and cultural hub.

Great venue! Been here for nights out and the rooftop cinema and always have a good time!

This place is great and I hope it doesn't get torn down. Lots of interesting events and a good place in the community.
