Swerve the crowds and greasy noodle stalls in the hectic heart of Camden Town and you'll find a more peaceful market experience at the water's edge. Hawley Wharf was once the site of the infamous 2008 Camden Market fire, sparked by overcrowded, highly flammable wooden stalls: now, it's been freshly redeveloped into a spruced up complex with a laidback (if gentrified) feel. Offbeat small businesses include Comics & Cakes, which sells cartoon-inspired treats, and homegrown hot sauce from London Chilli Co, alongside a host of places to eat and drink overlooking the canal.
