If the name Jaden Smith makes you think of the cute kid in The Pursuit of Happyness (where he starred alongside his IRL dad, Will Smith), then we’re sorry to break it to you but you are officially old.
Younger readers will know that the child acting prodigy has done the reverse of papa Smith and is now a pop phenomenon in his own right, collaborating with some of the biggest names in music – including a certain Justin Bieber – while putting out a steady stream of albums and mixtapes. The 23-year-old fashion designer, activist, rapper and singer just announced an exclusive, intimate show in London on September 22.
And while tickets are unfortunately sold out, Jaden is also in town to showcase his collaboration with New Balance – the New Balance x Jaden Smith Vision Racers.
Here, you could get yourself one of the bold, vegan-friendly pairs of the trainers from the in-store New Balance pop-up (running from September 22-26). The space will reveal the inspiration behind the shoes, and offer fans the chance to immerse themselves in more of Jaden’s world in a dedicated MSFTSrep shop-in-shop.
Jaden's visit to the UK comes at an exciting time as New Balance has recently unveiled the next chapter in its 'We Got Now' campaign: 'Impatience is a Virtue'. It's an intimate look into what drives Team New Balance athletes and fans of the brand around the world to claim the 'now' and pursue their passions. For Jaden, “when you know what you want, waiting isn’t an option”. Beyond his creative passions, he’s also driven to helping to ensure that everyone has access to clean water. And he is seriously doing something about it, too, donating water filtration system The Water Box to communities in need. We reckon you can expect that same ambitious, boundary-breaking attitude when you see him at Selfridges. Keep an eye out for more of Jaden in New Balance's 'We Got Now' campaign!
