Chere Louise is the first instalment in a trilogy of documentaries by French filmmaker Brigitte Cornand which all take the artist Louise Bourgeois as their subject. Providing a comprehensive introduction to Bourgeois's life, inspiration and work, Chere Louise takes on (in Cornand's words), 'a diary-like form, a visual collage, similar to Louise's own thought-processes and the personal diaries that she's kept writing since 1923.' This special screening is presented by Freud Museum London in conjunction with the exhibition Louise Bourgeois: The Return of the Repressed.
