Collected and Possessed

Artist Mark Fairnington has spent the last five years snooping behind the scenes of the Horniman, Wellcome Collection and Natural History Museum gathering inspiration for the 40 plus paintings that feature in this exhibition. Taxidermy dioramas, birds of paradise, skeletons, puppets and medical models have all served as subject material for the detailed works of art and the objects have been taken out of storage especially for the exhibition. The show has been made possible via crowdfunding platform Art Happens, with 177 art lovers donating money to bring the project to life.
