An absorbing visual history of Britain through the covers of the hugely popular listings magazine would be quite enough to draw us to this exhibition, but this being the Museum of London, there are also landmark broadcasts, archive clips, and broadcast artefacts. For Doctor Who fans, there’s a dedicated Doctor Who display and the chance to become a cover star with a life-sized Dalek against a backdrop of Westminster Bridge, recreating the famous 2005 Vote Dalek ‘Radio Times’ cover. For general visitors, the covers offer a chance to enjoy the work of some of the century’s best illustrators and artists, among them JB Priestley, Eric Fraser, Edward Ardizzone and Sir Peter Blake. These are displayed alongside original photography and artwork for the publication, including pieces by CRW Nevinson, John Gilroy and Abram Games.
