Dancing the Decade

'Dancing the Decade', a season of dance performances and screenings to celebrate the Wapping Project's tenth anniversary (see Dance), features a number of themed dance nights beneath a giant disco ball. A wooden dance floor replaces the industrial concrete in the evocative space of the boiler house, with professional tutors on hand to guide participants. Diners in the Wapping Project's restaurant gain a discount on dance tickets purchased on the night; the ticket price also includes entry to performances. The programme is as follows: Charleston, Tango, Foxtrot, Shimmy (Dec 8, 15, Jan 12, 19, 26); Waltz, Foxtrot and Swing (Dec 9, 16, Jan 13, 20, 27); Rock and Roll, Lindy Hop, Jitterbug (Dec 11, 18, Jan 8, 15, 22, 29); Salsa, Meringue, Calypso, Soul (Dec 17, Jan 14, 21, 28).
