A five-course meal for £15 might sound too good to be true, but that’s what’s being dished up at the Diners Union every Friday and Saturday evening from August 31 until the end of 2013. Set up by chef Rolan Dack and his team, these events, which take place in a yard near Old Street (the
Red Market site), are designed to make fine food affordable to all. The themes change each week, with French Revolution and Italy in 827 AD in the works. The launch weekend saw Victorian eats on tables, with soda bread, pickled oysters, wild girolles and more, so head down with a hefty appetite.
