It’s no secret that the capital is packed with wonderful experiences, under-the-radar gems and affordable activities for families. Thanks to TfL, and their amazing free and discounted travel for kids (and adult off-peak fares) across the network, getting out and about is easy and great value – especially when you’re travelling during the wonderful world of off-peak.
To help families make the most of the wonderful experiences that London has to offer, we've teamed up with TfL to bring you the Family Adventure Map. We've created four fun-filled itineraries, packed with everything from awesome parks and nature encounters to brain-stimulating family-friendly museums – all of which are a short walk or bus ride from a Tube or London Overground station. We've also included exciting challenges, games and cool facts at each location to make your next day out even more enjoyable.
So what are you waiting for? Leave the car at home, grab your colouring pencils, hop on to public transport and let the off-peak adventures begin!
Get started with the Family Adventure Map
1. Download your Family Adventure Map here. You can even print it out if you fancy! We recommend printing on A3 paper for the best experience.
2. If you don't have a printer, that's OK! Simply bring a notepad and some colouring pencils with you to complete the activities at each location.
3. Choose your itinerary. There are four to choose from: Northern Navigator, Southern Seeker, Eastern Explorer and Western Wanderer.
4. We've also got lots of fun activities for families to complete while on the journey. You can download these in four sections: London Adventure Log, Word search, Colouring in and Family Travel Bingo.
Remember to check TfL Journey Planner before you travel and always touch in and out with the same card or device to pay the right fare.
