Festival of The Girl

Festival of the Girl is on a mission to banish gender stereotypes. These generalised views and perceptions can kick in from a very early age, which is why the festival aims to start correcting this early by inviting girls aged 7 to 11 (and their families) to get stuck into hands-on workshops and unforgettable activities, all led by inspiring female role models. On the bill are talks from art historian and best-selling author Katy Hessel, NHS doctor and Olympic weightlifter Deborah Alawode and survival expert and bushcraft instructor Naomi Allsworth. There’ll be activity stands from The Florence Nightingale Museum, The Medical Women's Federation, and engineering workshops from Girls Can Build and zen meditation lesson from WeMeditate.
