While there’s certainly something comforting about meeting up with your mates at the same pubs, coffee shops and restaurants over and over, it might be time to give your routine a bit of a jolt. Next time the group chat organises itself well enough to hang out, then, maybe a trip to Fulham Pier might be on the cards.

Located right next to the River Thames, with a street food market, events spaces, family friendly play areas, and an events schedule so jam-packed that it would impress even the most dedicated Google Calendar user, Fulham Pier is a destination for everyone, where the views are mindblowing, and fun is strongly encouraged for all ages. Here are our top reasons for swinging by:

1. A chilled, pretty spot on the river

Fulham Pier boasts some of the coolest Thameside views in the whole of the capital, and has opened up the Fulham waterfront to the public for the first time in decades. Hireable riverside spaces make it a great, unexpected spot for special events, and for those after dinner with the sights, Michelin starred chef Adam Byatt’s Brasserie Constance – which looks out onto the water – will be an instant hit.

2. Year-round events and entertainment

Events venues will often tell you that they hold ‘something for everyone’ but there are few in London which seem quite as committed to the idea as Fulham Pier. From Pilates classes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, to comedy, cabaret, and roller disco (seriously), we’ll be surprised if you can’t find your own personal niche here. Whatever the season – whether it’s peak summer or the height of the Christmas festivities – Fulham Pier always boasts a stacked events calendar, where you’re bound to find something to get involved in.

3. There’s loads for kids to do

Getting involved, of course, isn’t just for grown-ups. Loads of Fulham Pier’s one off events are family friendly – over Halloween, for example, little thrill seekers can join in at Creepy Crawly Encounters – while there’s always Little Leaf Library soft play. Every Sunday from noon until 5pm is also designated as Family Day at Fulham Pier, where riverside family entertainment varies between magic, storytelling, crafts, bubbles, face painting and more – meaning nobody ever gets bored.

4. Food for every taste

If you’re the type of diner who can never decide what to eat, we’re sorry to say that you’ll be spoiled for choice at Fulham Pier’s Riverside Market, where you’ll find 10 of London’s best street food vendors. Here, you’ll be faced with the almost impossible choice between Fat Pickle Burger’s decadent smash burgers, huge, US-inspired pizza slices at Slice & Dice, RAPS’s fried chicken, plus more tasty fare from traders new and established. It’ll be tough, but we can think of worse predicaments to be in…

5. Community-driven experiences are at Fulham Pier’s heart

Ultimately, Fulham Pier is designed as both a destination for visitors and a hub for the local community, where families can come together to socialise and take part in free events. Regular exercise classes, a run club, and free chess are just some of the ways in which Fulham Pier might help you get to know your neighbours or make a new mate – and in a city where we’re increasingly isolated from one another, spaces like this are just what’s needed.
