This free literary event is taking over Trafalgar Square to spread the joys of reading with the help of authors, actors and a giant read-a-thon. Rupert Everett will be reading an Oscar Wilde fairytale, stars from 'Billy Elliot the Musical' will be performing a number, and there'll be a reading from Mark Haddon’s book 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time'. Other contributors include Anthony Horowitz, novelist Sally Gardner, actor Warwick Davis, author Marianne Levy, author Steve Cole, actor Sam West, and children's author Anne Fine. The one-day reading event has been organised by London paper the Evening Standard together with reading tablet brand NOOK. See www.standard.co.uk for more information.
