Colonel Sanders isn't the deep south's only culinary representative in the UK any longer, and it's about time we all learnt more from some masters of American cuisine. This collaboration between southern US restaurant The Lockhart and food event company Toast will see their Mississippi-born chef Brad McDonald in conversation with food writer Tim Hayward as they delve into the history, traditions and stories that made the cuisine what it is today. Guests will enjoy bourbon cocktails while they listen, before tucking into a family-style meal of cornbread, gumbo, shrimp and grits, smoked shortrib and even fried chicken, and well as a few extra surprises. American wine and a piece of pie are also included, as is a doughnut to take home with you. Book in advance on the Toast website.
