Guy Fawkes Festival and Fireworks
© Peter Kindersley

Just when you thought fireworks couldn't get more exciting, here comes your chance to watch them go off in a place that made gunpowder its business. Learn what really happened to Guy Fawkes in the Royal Gunpowder Mills' costumed re-enactments of his famous plot, which feature the chance to learn about the people, food and life of the seventeenth century. Craft activities for children including making a Guy Fawkes lantern, and there'll be snacks and hot food outlets. The day rounds off at 7pm with a 15-minute fireworks finale. Booking recommended.
