Tasting menus don’t have to be boring and buttoned up – as proven by the V Day menu at the very romantic Thameside restaurant Hithe + Seek. If you’re on the hunt for a romantic evening that still feels like a good laugh, you could do a lot worse than chef Fabio de Paolis’ well-considered six courses, paired with wine recommendations by Dalston Wine Club founder Hannah Crosbie. Cheekily-named, aphrodisiac-laced dishes (like ‘My Type On Paper’, a langoustine risotto, and a chilli mango mousse dubbed ‘The Ex’) are matched with wines from around the world, at a great value £99 per person. The menu is served throughout February, but a V Day reservation will keep you in the good books for the rest of the year.
