[title]
See 27 portraits of women belonging to the Yazidi community, a marginalised group in Iraq who have experienced harrorwing atrocities at the hands of ISIS and other terrorist forces. It is estimated that almost 7,000 Yazidi women have been captured by ISIS to date, and yet their stories are rarely heard in international news.
The Lacey Contemporary's #IAmYezidi exhibition will present photographs of the women supported by Khalsa Aid, a charity working in Iraq to support those affected by the conflict. The sobering images, captured photojournalist Benjamin Eagle, will be accompanied by quotes from Yadizi women who offered to share their experiences with the world.
