Time Out says

To mark Black History Month this October, Islington are hosting a series of events surrounding the theme of 'leadership and those who have triumphed in the fight for equal rights'. There will be youth workshops for ages 15-21 based around critical thinking (Oct 21) – how to recognise conditioning in popular culture – and the power of lyrical expression (Oct 23). Audiences can take part in quizzes and interactive workshops to find different routes to success (Oct 25). There will also be a series of films on various dates, incuding a screening of 'Sus', featuring a Q&A session with locally-based actor Clint Dyer (Oct 4), 'Guerilla Grannies', which includes food and music (Oct 10), 'Once Upon a Time When We Were Coloured' (Oct 15) and more.

All of the events are free, except the 'Sus' screening/Q&A, which is £5. For further information, visit everyvoice.org.uk/bhm.
