An illustrated talk delivered by architectural historian and postwar modernism lover John Grindrod, guiding guests through the dreams and realities portrayed in Ladybird books. He'll be joined by social and cultural historian Helen Day who will be charting the changes in attitude to gender, race and class, and Tim Dunn who's a transport historian tackling the social and design history within the books. Radio 4's Samira Ahmed chairs the evening.
