The Lee Valley White Water Centre has not one but two urban beaches to explore. The smaller one boasts 140 tonnes of light golden sand and is open all year round for visitors to kick back on. Family can take part in beach games and purchase buckets and spades for sandcastle competitions before letting the kids go wild in the natural play zone. The second inland sand haven is for bigger kids looking to play hard. Hire it out for volleyball and beach soccer tournaments with your pals.
