It’s the first time I’ve done London Wine Week and for those oenophiles, it’s a pretty good shout. It’s a chance to try out flights of wine and really get your nose stuck in a glass. We checked out the Viva Portugal tent and opted for the “Premium Reds” and the “Red Discovery” flights which had 3 reds each (it was pouring with rain, so definitely a red wine kinda night). And there are plenty of wine flights or sip and snack pairings from £5. Unfortunately they do not give you a printed map and you have to download the DrinkUp.London app to know which establishments are taking part in the London Wine Week festival. The app also doesn’t tell you whether the establishment has restricted times on their London Wine Week offer (for an example, we were told at Devonshire Terrace that their offer expires at 6:30pm) and therefore makes it a little harder to plan your night. Nevertheless, if you plan ahead which establishments you want to hit, I’m sure you’re bound to find a tipple that tickles you fancy. Other recommended flights aside from the Viva Portugal tent was the Spanish tasting flight, also in the Devonshire Square area.

Tip: download the DrinkUp.London app first before you head out (it is 76 megabytes!) so you can plan your night ahead.

Good For: something different, small groups, date night, casual drinks
