Mitford Day at Sutton House
Time Out says
Friendly warning! We're working hard to be accurate. But these are unusual times, so please check that events are still happening.
Part of the London Project, dedicated to opening up the city's ten National Trust properties with a range of compelling and unusual events, Mitford Day brings the variously fabulous and notorious Mitford sisters to Hackney's oldest house.
Curated by film club Amy Grimehouse, expect the trashy, camp and vulgar sides of 1920s and 1930s life to be fully indulged. The audience are encouraged to dress up as their favourite sister to enjoy a Deb(o) Ball, dancing and cocktails, with a rare screening of ‘Nancy Mitford 1904-1973: A Portrait by Her Sisters’, which combines interviews with most of the siblings and archive film of Nancy.
