Time Out says

Ordinarily closed to the public due to lack of funds, 19 Princelet Street (also known as the Museum of Immigration and Diversity) is offering a rare chance to visit. Two January open days will see the 'museum of conscience' open the door to its unrestored, eighteenth-century Grade II* listed building to present various exhibitions which explore London's multicultural heritage. 'Suitcases and Sanctuary' looks at the patterns of immigration that shaped Spitalfields through the perspective of Irish, Jewish, Afro-Caribbean, Somali and Bangladeshi children who worked with actors, poets and artists to arrive at their take on the past. While in 'Leave to Remain', three contemporary refugee artists provide personal insight into the experience of exile and asylum. Beyond these installations, the house itself- – originally the residence of a Huguenot silk merchant – is fascinating. A concealed synagogue dating from 1869 is the most intriguing element, and a family-friendly activity trail will take you past other highlights
