National Centre for Circus Arts

Deep down, haven’t we all wondered if we’re secretly destined for the trapeze? Whether it’s juggling, tumbling, or pretty much anything in-between, the National Centre for Circus Arts (formerly known as Circus Space) has a class on it during their regular 12-week terms (but don’t expect to learn the art of throwing a custard pie: that’s just silly).

This place is a total gem that I wish I'd discovered years ago. I went along with my 5 & 7 year old who both loved every minute and are now badgering me to sign them up for regular classes. The staff were all lovely, the building is impressive and it was so refreshing to do something totally different with the kids. I was amazed by how many different activities they manged to fit in. My 7 year old says "It was fun and exciting. I especially liked the bouncy room and trapeze. I really want to go again"

I did the circus experience and absolutely loved it! Great variety of circus activities from trapeze to juggling and aerial ropes. The staff were lovely, super energetic and very talented. The space is beautiful and a great central location in London. Definitely going to do the trapeze or aerial ropes course whilst in London!

Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to do a different, fun experience in London!

Thanks for a great afternoon!

I really enjoyed the circus experience i did here. Lovely energetic staff and lots of fun circus equipment in a beautiful building! A brilliant alternative activity in central London.

Thanks a lot!!

I did a half-day circus skills experience, which gave a taster of a number of different skills from tightrope walking to trapeze. It was great fun to do with friends, with direction from friendly and very talented instructors.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for something different to do in London!

Loved this place, loved these people, loved this course... SO so much fun - trying new things and learning new skills - it's a don't miss opportunity... This is five-star-plus fun fun fun... From a juggling, tightrope walking, human pyramid building, trapeze star second-to-none...!!!

I did a half-day circus skills experience here and it was fantastic. Juggling, acrobatic balancing, tightrope walking and the trapeze left one half of me ready to run off and join the circus and the other half feeling aches in muscles I never knew I had.

The negative reviews on here are surprising as I had no such problems with either the customer service or the session itself.

Great tuition, great fun, great experience, highly recommended!

The Circus experience day was fabulous - well taught, great fun and a revelation to discover everyone’s talents and enthusiasm for (variously) juggling, tightrope walking, acrobatics and (my absolute favourite) flying trapeze: the most exhilarating swing ever. Highly recommended for all ages

I did an Acro 6 class here and it was bad. Nothing 'acro' about it; just the same kind of high intensity interval stuff you can do in a lovely park instead of a smelly room.

Tastemaker

If you’re looking to learn a new skill or start a new hobby then circus arts is the place for you! Set in a converted old power station this is a great space where you can learn all sorts of amazing tricks. A friend and I decided to book in for the circus arts experience day and had a lot of fun. On our day there were quite a few people and things are all started by a warm up following by a mini circus circuits assault course. We had a go at acrobatics, aerial skills (which was actually quite difficult), juggling (who knew I was juggling incorrectly all this time) and the trapeze. All the trainers are experts in their fields and really patient, friendly and keen to pass on their knowledge. The trapeze was definitely a highlight for me although it was a little nerve racking at first, after take off you just want to keep on going. It was awesome! The place offers longer courses as well so this session may give you a useful insight to some of those disciplines before you commit fully to a longer course.

Extremely disappointed with this company and their customer service. Having booked a Circus School Experience with them for two people at a total price of £140 I was unable attend on the day due to all trains from my home town to London being cancelled. Even though this situation was completely out of my control, the manager of the school was adamant that my partner and I could not receive a refund or attend on another date. Essentially the response I had was "tough luck" with little or no appreciation of the amount of money spent and the fact that the experiences were bought as a birthday gift. Truly the worst customer service I have ever experienced and I would urge anyone thinking of booking with this company to think again as you or a family/friend about could potentially end up very out of pocket!

The Circus Space invariably delivers top class teaching, mentoring and performances. It's a lovely venue with a great buzz and lots of inspiration.
