Pig Fest at Stepney City Farm

To highlight the quality of the Berkshire pork they rear, Stepney City Farm are throwing a festival to celebrate their Hella Delicious hogs. Events include two, eight-course tasting evenings called ‘Everything But the Oink’. Guest chef Neil Bentinck will host the meals which feature dishes such as squid and pork crackling, barbecue belly and trotter and tail custard made from one of the farm’s own pigs (Dec 12-13, £40). Other highlights include porky picnic plates on offer from the farm café (Dec 13), and the venue’s last meaty brunch of the year (Dec 14). If you don’t feel too weird about making friends with your food, you can give a pregnant piggy a belly rub, or if that’s a step too far, take part in drawing activities or ‘pin the tail on the pig’ games. See website for details and book tickets here.
