This double bill of events marks 350 years since the Black Death killed a fifth of London's population. Discover Medical London are filling the afternoon with a study tour, 'Path-ologies: A capital's contagious geography'. The four-hour event will reveal how central Lonodn was affected by the infection and will teach the history of contagious disease in the capital. Tickets (£25) should be booked in advance on the Discover Medical London website.

The Royal College of Physicians' event, 'This Calamitous year: plague doctors and death', includes lectures on the great plague, how physicians dealt with it and what London did with all the bodies. Tickets are £10 and include a glass of wine; book in advance on the Royal College of Physicians website.

A joint ticket for both events costs £30 and can be bought from the Discover Medical London website.
