Manage your own online Poker Club with PokerStars new Home Games

Millions of people enjoy playing home games with friends and family in a relaxed, comfortable and safe environment, but often they are difficult to host because the participants don’t live in the same city, might be away on business, or don’t have the room and facilities.

PokerStars Home Games solves these problems by giving both casual and serious poker players alike the ability to set up private ‘Poker Clubs’ and play in online Home Games together, regardless of where they are in the world.

Home Games set up guide

  • To play Home Games you need to have the free PokerStars game software on your computer. If you don’t already have it, download the software now. Already have the PokerStars software? Then you can start your Poker Club!

  • In the main game lobby, you’ll find a new tab called ‘Home Games’. Click on that tab to open the Home Games lobby.

  • In the Home Games lobby, you’ll see two green buttons. If you’ve been invited to join a club, click ‘Join a Poker Club’. To start a new club, click ‘Create a Poker Club’. Then follow the instructions in the pop-up window.

  • When you create a club, you’ll be asked to give it a name and invitation code. (Please make sure your Invitation Code is not the same as your PokerStars user ID password.) That’s it! You’ve created your Poker Club. See the FAQs for tips on how to name your Poker Club.

  • Now that your club exists, you’ll need to invite your friends. We’ll send you an email with your club details and Club ID number. You can send these details to your friends via email, Facebook, Twitter, or any way you like. All they need is your Club ID number and Invitation Code to join.

  • In the main Home Games lobby, you’ll now see that your new club has been added to your list of Poker Clubs. Click on the ‘Club Lobby’ button to go to your private club lobby. This is your private lobby, just for you and the members of your club.

  • When your friends apply to join your club, you’ll receive an email notification from us. You can then go to the ‘Manage Club’ tab in your club lobby, and accept or reject their application from the ‘Pending’ members list.

  • Now that your club is set up and your friends have joined, you are ready to play. To schedule a Home Game, go to the ‘Manage Games’ section of your club lobby, and choose whether you want to create a tournament or ring game table.

  • For tournaments, you’ll be asked to select the date and time, your preferred type of game (Hold’em, Omaha or Stud, etc), and the buy-in, number of players, and so on. Once you set up your game, we will automatically notify your club members via email with all the game details, but you can also share this on Facebook or Twitter.

  • Finally, don’t forget to register for the game! You’ll find a list of all your scheduled home games in the main Home Games lobby, and also in your club lobby ‘Schedule’ tab. For tournaments, double-click on the game and then register in the tournament lobby. Now you’re in the game. It will automatically start at the date and time that you selected.
