Richard Forbes’ brilliantly non-conformist, suburban choir of ‘everyday people’ are taking part in the Winter Festival Choral Crafternoon at The Southbank Centre in The Clore Ballroom at midday on Saturday Dec 11 before moving on to perform two sets at The Tower of London to perform in the Royal Grounds as part of 'Project Get Singing'. These guys ‘don’t wear T-shirts, don’t do dance moves and don’t stand up much at the practice sessions’. So what do they do? Pretty much what they like, to be honest – but that’s half the fun. Expect gorgeous takes on classic tunes from the likes of Nina Simone, Kate Bush, Amy Winehouse, Blur, Chaka Khan, Pink and anything else they fancy taking on. And if you want our view? Their gigs are never better than when they turn into a pub sing-along – think a proper Cockney knees-up but with glorious harmonies and fewer spoons. Recommended.
