Ranked: our editors’ favourite reactions to the ‘Scream for Reese’s’ pop-up

Be honest: you’re at least a little bit terrified of picking up the phone. When’s the last time you answered a call from an unknown number… let alone from a phonebox? Forget about it! How impressive, then, that a bunch of brave souls picked up a ringing phone from a creepy-looking phone booth, with the promise of winning delicious Reese’s treats. 

On September 18, the ‘Scream for Reese’s’ pop-up saw Londoners approach a spooky-looking booth, which they were told to pick up if they wanted to win smooth, creamy Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. To their horror, they realised that on the other line was none other than Ghostface from the Scream franchise! When they answered his questions correctly, they were rewarded with Reese’s treats. But was the shock worth it? Let’s take a look at some of the funniest reactions:

1: The classic horror film howl 

Mouth as wide open as possible, hand in the air – what could be more iconic? This is someone who knows her slasher films. 

2: The lean of terror

When the fear is so great that you fall back on the nearest wall that will catch you – excellent work from our Time Out correspondent. 

3: The yawn/scream hybrid 

Is he terrified? Or just a bit sleepy? We’ll never know, but there’s no doubt this man deserves a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. 

4: The big eyes of concern

It’s not a scream, but you can just feel the cold sense of dread rising. Powerful stuff.
