Historical tour guides Trails of the City are adding new walks to their repertoire. ‘Return of the King’ explores a period of time that marked the start of London's transformation from medieval town to modern city, during the first decade of Charles II's reign. After meeting outside Exit 4 of Westminster tube,walkers will be guided from Banqueting House to Burlington House, taking in Whitehall and St James's Square, while hearing stories of the very merry monarch, his glamorous mistress and their flamboyant court.
