Head to St Anne's church gardens in Soho for a village fête in the grand old tradition. Snail races, a Police v Firemen tug-of-war, a human fruit machine and a spaghetti-eating contest all feature – it's the sort of stuff you loved as a kid and never really grow out of.
This year, there'll be music from Ruby Venezuela, Hoochie Toots, Colliers Wood International Ukelele Orchestra, Anke Landeau, Fabulous Lounge Swingers and Royal Organ Duo. A highlight is the waiters' race at 3.30pm outside The French House. Plus Marawa the Amazing's Hula Hoop Troupe will be entertaining the crowd and we defy you to keep your own hips immobile in the face of their wriggly expertise.
There'll be lots of stalls and food and drink will be available from stalls run by local restaurants including The Vault at Milroy's, Bar Termini, Chotto Matte, Pieda Bar and Pizza Pilgrims. This is a side of Soho many never see – and it's fun.
