It's December, so you can't put off thoughts of Christmas shopping for that much longer. If fighting hordes of high street crowds is not your thing, however, Spitalfields City Farm has a more palatable alternative. The farm is hosting stalls selling handmade cards and non-mass-produced presents, as well as Christmas tress themselves, and will be invoking a non-jarring festive atmosphere with carol singing, mulled wine and seasonal family activities. There's no manger but the resident foster dairy calves can probably be counted on to do their best impression of cattle lowing for the occasion.
