Spitalfields Music Summer Festival returns with an eclectic programme of music at venues in the Spitalfields area including: 'Opening Blast: Sounds of Spitalfields' mass blast for tubas and euphoniums (Spitalfields Market: Jun 8 12.30pm; free); 'Purcell for Under-Twos', a toddler-friendly musical romp through a forest of fantastical animals and fairies (Rich Mix: Jun 13 10.30am-midday; free, booking required); Women Sing East performing popular classics (Shoreditch Church: Jun 13 7-8.15pm; £10); 'Chaos and Creation' performed by local school children inspired by the works of John Cage (Shoreditch Church: Jun 19 12.30-1.30pm; free, booking required); 'Midsummer Street Party' with Talvin Singh, Gold Diggers Brass Band and others (Brushfield St: Jun 23 noon-5.30pm; free); weekday lunchtime concerts (Bishops Square: Jun 11-22 12.30-1.45pm; free); 'Festival Finale' with 200 singers, a horn ensemble and pyrotechnics (Bishops Square: Jun 23 9-9.30pm; free).
