The east London Tudor manor house will be transformed into a handmade haven with stalls from the organisers of Embankment Summer Market, Soho Flea Market and Dalston Christmas Market. Look out for carol performances, film previews and local theatre productions too.

This was very poorly executed. Don't go!! Absolute rubbish in terms of excitement for the kids. It had so much potential but we were utterly disappointed.
This event is very mis-sold. The National Trust website reads as if this is a family event with lots going on. But all this is, is a craft market that you have to pay £5.50 per person to get into, with a mediocre Santa's grotto that costs another £2. The Santa was very unenthusiastic and his costume needed a wash (his white gloves were filthy!). There were other characters in the house such as Captain Hook, but they just stood around looking bored - didn't interact with children.
On the plus side, the quality of market goods were great. Lots of nice prints, fabrics and cards - a cut above many markets. But nothing really for families, other than 5 mins with Santa.
