Time Out says

If you take to swimming like a fish to water, then nab a place in this one-day, 4,000m Swim Britain challenge in east London.

Never do as much swimming as you'd like? Need some motivation? And tips on how to build strength and gain confidence… SwimBritain is here for you. They're hosting a day of 4,000m team swimming relays taking place around Britain, with an easier version for the less confident or less able swimmers, SwimBritain500, consisting of a 2,000m team relay option. Each team comprises up to four swimmers, with family teams made up of at least one adult and up to three children aged 8-15. This means that if you have four team members, each person must complete 4 x 250m laps (or 4 x 125m laps in SwimBritain500). The super-cheap entry fee includes four 30-minute coaching sessions with accredited swimming coaches, designed to boost confidence in the water and build up swimming strength at your own pace. London's SwimBritain takes place in two locations: London Fields Lido and the Olympic Park's Aquatics Centre, which, with two 50m pools, means you just need to do 20 laps in one to say you've swum Britain. TV personality, comedian and Channel swimmer David Walliams will also be on hand to encourage participants from 10am-2pm. So what are you waiting for?
