For the final two weeks of September, cities across the UK are offering Brits the chance to indulge Iberian-style, and experience all the flavours, food and tipples for which Spain is justifiably famous. We’re talking plenty of paella, we’re talking jamon for days and we’re talking enough rioja to float a Spanish galleon. If you’re a fan of the country’s cuisine (and who isn’t? It’s literally some of the best food that Planet Earth has to offer), you’ll want to get your diary out right now, start warming up your pintxos fingers, and start making plans for what promises to be a fortnight of manjares exquisitos.

Whether you’re a diehard fan of Spanish gastronomy, or a budding gourmand curious about broadening your culinary horizons, Eat Spain Drink Spain in cities across the UK represents a genuinely exciting opportunity to sample everything the country has to offer (as long as it fits on a plate or in a glass). Do you live in a city in the UK? Mouth-watering events and promotions at top restaurants and shops could be on their way to your neighbourhood.

Which restaurant and shops, you ask? Lots of them. In London you’ve got world-class eateries like Moro in Exmouth Market and Copita in Soho doing special one-off menus to celebrate the occasion. Meanwhile the Basque-inspired and beautifully presented dishes of the super trendy Prince Arthur in Belgravia will have exclusive additions to its critically acclaimed food and drink offering. Elsewhere in the capital, some of the city’s best-loved restaurants will be offering special tastings and showcasing the diverse array of foods Spain has to offer. Drop by Twist Connubio in Marylebone, Frame in Notting Hill and Pizarro in Bermondsey to sample the kinds of snacks and drinks that’ll transport you straight to the sunny climes of southwestern Europe. There are plenty more participating businesses so do check online for the full roster.

Beyond the capital, the line-up is equally stacked. Lunya – Liverpool’s award-winning Spanish and Catalan deli, restaurant and bar, will be providing a dedicated Eat Spain Drink Spain section of their menu. Birmingham’s tapas-touting Bar Estilo, CATA in Edinburgh and both of Manchester’s much-loved Evuna restaurants will also be getting in on the action with special dishes, sampling opportunities and more. Once again: the list of all participating businesses is online.

Whether or not you think you know Spain’s cuisine inside out, you’ll be surprised and delighted by what’s on offer during Eat Spain Drink Spain. Just be sure to save a bit of space for the chocolate and churros.
