Thames Barrier Test Closure

Environment Agency staff host this event, during which visitors can see the Thames Barrier undergo a routine monthly test closure (9.30am-noon). The event is being held as part of Exercise Watermark, a national emergency exercise that will test the country's response to surface water, reservoir, river and coastal flooding. There's the chance to see a sandbag wall being built and demonstrations of other flood defences.
