The Campsite

Out-of-season, out-of-the-ordinary camping-themed entertainment comes to the Natural History Museum over half-term when vintage camper vans, caravans and tents appear in the museum's grounds for a range of family activities. There are short nature films on show in the Camper Van Cinema, a chance to explore a real polar tent used by scientists carrying out research in Antarctica, learn about evolution through a musical comedy performance inspired by Darwin's 'On the Origin of Species' and, most intriguingly, an opportunity to dress up as a specimen and pose for a photo in a human-size display case. The events are inspired by the museum scientists' research field trips and are presented in collaboration with theatre company Field Trip.
